We’re here to provide you with a “one-stop-shop” approach to planning your family reunion – and best of all – this service is FREE. If you would like our assistance, there are four simple steps to follow:


STEP 1

You must register your reunion by submitting a Reunion Registration Form.
The reunion must be registered 6-18 months before your reunion.

The professional staff of the DMCVB is eager to assist you with your reunion. Allow us to save you time and money by distributing your requirements to companies you would like to have respond directly to you with their rates, availability, menus, etc. We can be of assistance in the following areas:

• Hotels
• Banquet Facilities
• Attractions/Tours
• Transportation
• T-shirts, Caterers, DJ’s, etc.


STEP 2

Provide to us a signed copy of your hotel contract.

A hotel contract is required in order to receive the free items for your reunion attendees. By providing us with a copy of your contract, this lets us know your reunion in The D is confirmed.

STEP 3

The DMCVB will e-mail you a Product Request Form after your hotel contract has been received.

You must return the completed Product Request Form no later than 6 weeks prior to your reunion date. Orders received after the 6 week deadline will not be processed.

NOTE: We only guarantee complimentary items to reunions that are registered 6-18 months in advance. All other requests are basedon the event date and availability.

Reunions will receive the following complimentary items:

• Visit Detroit Plastic Bags
• Visit Detroit Magazines
• Visit Detroit Pens or Pencils

STEP 4

A confirmation letter will be sent to you along with paperwork and directions to pick up your items directly from our warehouse.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR FAMILY REUNION PLANNERS

• To obtain Detroit images to use on materials, please visit our image library.

• Check our complete listing of upcoming events, or view a snapshot of annual events to see what else will be happening in The D during your reunion!

• The offices of the Detroit City Council will provide a welcome letter for your family reunion. You must make your request 10 business days prior to your reunion date. Contact Karen Starks at (313) 224-4505.

• The Governor of Michigan will provide a personal letter acknowledging your family reunion. Your request should be made in writing six weeks prior to reunion date. Please provide the following information in your request:

1. Family name
2. Date of the event / Is it an annual event?
3. Location
4. Brief family history
