The public is invited to participate in this World Record Attempt by blowing the largest display of recycled glass bubbles at the Glass Academy, while also creating community givebacks to 10 Michigan charities. The Glass Academy will be blowing bubbles for 6 weeks before the final attempt on July 31st, 2022 when the judge will come into town for the final count and award ceremony.  Tickets to blow 2 glass bubbles cost $25 with $5 of each sale going to one of the top 10 charity choices chosen by the Glass Academy staff and founders.  Ticket sales will go live on June 16th, 2022. “We’ve been doing givebacks with non-profits since the start of our business in 2004.”  Explains co-founder Michelle Plucinsky.  “It’s time to go big now and get everyone involved in this fun community event!!  We’re asking all our students, friends, and inviting the public to join in the fun! Our goal is to raise $8,000 for this charity event.” The basis of the event is this; for each ticket sold, $5 will go directly to one of the top 10 charities on our list.  Customers will choose which charity they would like to donate to and we’ll be posting stats and information on our social channels about each of the charities we are representing during this special event. Class tickets will be scheduled throughout June and July to get the 1,200 bubbles made to win the world record by July 31st, 2022.  This a world record attempt and we’re interested in getting everyone to join in the action and be part of this fun charity and studio event. The Glass Academy located in Dearborn, Michigan and has been hosting events since the beginning of opening their doors in 2004.  “We’ve always done large public events showcasing glass blowing and educating the public on the craft of glassblowing,” explains Jacob Nordin.  “This event will be our largest public event because it’s a 6-week process and ends with a World Record attempt!!  We are super excited for this event and even more excited to showcase some amazing charities that we have hand-picked these last few years.” Two of the featured charities are the Greening of Detroit, whose mission is to Inspire sustainable growth of a healthy urban community through trees, green spaces, healthy living, education, training, and job opportunities.  As well as a newcomer, New Path Villages Detroit whose aim is to create self-managed communities of cost-effective tiny homes for people in need of emergency housing. Batch Gallery found inside the Glass Academy building, will be open during the classes and students who participate in the bubble blowing for the World Record will receive a 20% discount coupon to shop our handmade products found in the gallery.
