The course will take you through two countries, through the international tunnel and over the beautiful Ambassador Bridge. If the half is more your style, there are two unique courses to choose from. With a group of friends or family or both, you can participate as a relay team that relies on each other. And for those who want to ease in, there is have a 5K, Kids Fun Run and Competitive 1-Mile on Saturday! New this year to race weekend: – Competitive 1-Mile timed event on Saturday, October 20 along the Detroit Riverfront available to any runner, not just Marathon participants, and is available as an individual race; and the inaugural – Motor City Challenge Series for those who want to run in more than one event during Marathon Weekend – Late registration for the 1-Mile, 5K, Kids Fun Run and the US-only Half-Marathon which will be accepted on Friday only at the annual Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers Health and Fitness Expo held at Cobo Center, while available entry spots last Nearly 4,000 of the participants are expected to run to raise over $2 million for more than 40 charities. The race, which runs throughout the streets of Detroit and Windsor, Canada, is the largest running race of its kind in the State of Michigan and is celebrating its 41st year of competition. This year’s Marathon will draw runners from countries as far away as Nigeria, Sweden and Taiwan.
