The Michigan State Fair has moved to a virtual platform in 2020.
The Michigan State Fair moving to the private sector has allowed the festival to flourish once again among Michiganders proud of their agricultural roots. Thanks to a grassroots movement toward the great natural resources, agriculture, cottage industry food and beverages, farm-to-table produce and similar endeavors that has been dawning across the state. Now, this Labor Day weekend event is one of the most anticipated in the entire state.
The Michigan State Fair is fun for the entire family, featuring family friendly activities, contests, equestrian shows, petting farms, carnival rides, pig racing and so much more! Basic admission for the fair begins at $8 for adults and $6 for children. Attractions include agriculture and farm experience, butter cow, Beginning of Life, cooking demos, eating contests, dog performances, Friday Night Flights (if you’re a beer lover), equestrian pavilion, blood drive, endless milk, farmers market, home arts, live music, livestock, racing pigs, readers round-up, shopping, Tiny Totville, a parade and the traditional Shrine Circus.
Now operated as a private entity, the Michigan State Fair will continue with deep commitment to the ongoing development and support of agriculture, small business and family entertainment, while preserving the legacy and beloved traditions of the original State Fair. This privately-produced event carries forward all of the positive aspects of past Fairs, including substantial positive economic impact, with major charitable and community benefits — with no support from the tax-payer.
