Easily one of the most regarded music festivals in the country, Movement has been a Detroit Summer staple since 2000, donning the still referred-to name of DEMF - Detroit Electronic Music Festival. Detroit Techno tycoons like Carl Craig and Kevin Saunderson started what's become an internationally revered music genre for all demographics. Following Movement Detroit's initial 2017 lineup announcement, which included Monday's Main Stage headliner Carl Cox as well as The Belleville Three, Adam Beyer, Barclay Crenshaw, Danny Brown, Dixon and many more, the festival organizers are excited to reveal over 40 additional acts to its 2017 lineup, bringing this year's billing to 113 performances. Today's Phase 2 Lineup announcement features world-renowned electronic music artist and producer deadmau5 under his Testpilot alias as Sunday's Main Stage headliner and Techno pioneer Richie Hawtin as Saturday's Main Stage headliner. Since its inception, Movement has included electronic headliners such as Bassnectar, Major Lazer, Skrillex, Disclosure, local hero GRiZ and many more all while maintaining its venerable reputation for true, underground, original Detroit Techno. Every year, thousands of people from all over the country flock to Hart Plaza to experience the origin of their favorite genre in a three-day festival along the beautiful Detroit River.
