The Hellenic Cultural Center is thrilled to welcome Irish flute player, Sean Gavin, the first American to win the prestigious Sean O’Riada gold medal for traditional Irish music, to the 34th Annual Saint Patrick’s Day Irish Fest held in Westland on March 17, 2019. Sean will join Mick Gavin, fiddle and melodeon, who was awarded the 2018 Michigan Heritage Award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Michigan’s cultural heritage.
This year’s festival will also feature outstanding Irish musicians, singers and dancers including Michael Gavin on fiddle, banjo and guitar, Irish tenor, Eddie McGlinchey, fiddlers Kelsey Lutz and Marty Somberg, Pat’s People’s Ray Maguire on vocals, flute, and guitar, vocalist Rachel Pearson, pianist Debbie Wagner, The Ardan Academy of Irish Dance, Motor City Irish Dance, highland pipers and more!
Food including corned beef and cabbage will be available for purchase throughout the day as well as a cash bar.
Donation is $10, and children under 12 are admitted free with their parents.
