Car Cruises, Races, Vintage Showcases and More. Oh My!

Autopalooza is the spring/summertime celebration of southeast Michigan's automotive heritage through a series of major cruises, races and shows that take place April through September.

The series includes more than a dozen signature high-energy auto events that happen every year in the metro Detroit region. If you're a car buff or auto admirer from afar, the Autopalooza lineup will give you a feel for Detroit's auto history and the impact four wheels can have on a city. Make The Future Detroit featuring Shell Eco-Marathon Americas (April) A unique competition that challenges students around the world to design, build and drive the most energy-efficient car.

Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix (late May-early June) Held on Belle Isle Park, this event features the cars of the Verizon IndyCar Series, the exotic sports cars of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and more.

Eastpointe Cruisin' Gratiot (June) This event spans across an entire week, featuring car shows daily, all leading up to the big event on cruise Saturday.

EyesOn Design Automotive Design Exhibition (June) Each year, this event attracts members of the transportation design community, collectors and the general public to celebrate and reflect on design.

Motor Muster (June) A celebration of one of the innovative eras of American automotive history - 1933-1976 - on the streets of Greenfield Village in Dearborn.

Sloan Museum Auto Fair (June) A  fun-filled two-day show with plenty of music, entertainment, vendors and, of course, automobiles. More than 600 of the best looking cars, trucks and motorcycles around will be on display.

Cruisin' Downriver (June) A Downriver love affair with cars takes to Fort Street for a cruise through multiple cities.

All American Cruise (July) A leisurely trek through the middle of the commercial district past one of Michigan's Premier shopping malls, Westland Mall.

Car Capitol Car Show (July) The R.E. Olds Transportation Museum's annual car show is open to all makes of cars, trucks and motorcycles. See vehicles from the 1900s to 2017.

Concours d'Elegance of America (late July-early August) Held at The Inn at St. John's in Plymouth. The site offers its handsome grounds for showcasing the invited world-class vehicles.

Clinton Township Gratiot Cruise (August) Go back in time with vehicles from all eras cruising Gratiot, one of those Michigan roads where everyone has a memory.

Back to the Bricks Cruise Weekend (August) Back to the Bricks attracts a record-breaking number of vehicles, with rolling cruises and tune-up events in the area.

The Woodward Dream Cruise (third weekend in August) The world's largest one-day celebration of classic car culture, attracts more than 1 million visitors and more than 40,000 muscle cars, street rods, custom, collector and special interest vehicles.

Cruisin' Hines (September) A celebration of classic car culture, congregating on 7.5 miles of a beautiful park setting on Hines Drive.

Old Car Festival (September) A spectacle as the streets and grounds of Greenfield Village in Dearborn are filled with the sights, sounds and smells of hundreds of authentic vehicles from the 1890s through 1932.

Orphan Car Show (September) A reunion of vehicles from DeSoto to Packard to Franklin and Plymouth.


Various locations throughout Metro Detroit
