For immediate release:

Signal Return’s 2nd Annual Power of the Press Fest set for Sunday October 10, 2021
Time: 10am – 4pm
Location: Shed 5 Eastern Market Detroit
Admission is Free

This event gathers over 50 different print artists working across a variety of media – letterpress, screenprinting, risograph, wood engraving, paper making, book arts, etc. Artists will be coming from Brooklyn, Kalamazoo, Ypsilanti, Pittsburgh and Vermont as well as from across metro Detroit to share their work. The Fest will also feature the internationally recognized Quarantine Public Library.

There will be scheduled demonstrations of artist techniques throughout the day and art for sale
from vendors throughout the event. This event is recommended for all ages.

The first Power of the Press Fest in 2017 attracted thousands of visitors and was hailed as a
major cultural event in the region. The second event was postponed for a year due to COVID.

Power of the Press Fest is hosted by Signal Return. Under the direction of globally recognized
artist and printmaker Lynne Avadenka, the letterpress print shop has been connecting community to the world of print arts since 2013.

“We are excited to bring the festival back.” said Lynne. “It has been a challenging time for the
creative community and it’s great to have the opportunity to showcase artists’ work once again.
People enjoy seeing artists at work, and we have a wonderful line-up of craftspeople and artisans.”
