  1. Not a full marathon runner? No problem. There’s a 5K, half marathon and even a full marathon relay, so you can split the 26.2 among your friends. Kids can also join in on the fun and participate in the Meijer Kids Fun Run.
  2. The marathon is the only road race to cross international borders twice. Plus, crossing the Ambassador Bridge offers quite the view.
  3. The marathon is also the only road race that includes an “underwater mile” through the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel. Not a big fan of bridges or tunnels? Don’t worry – there’s a U.S. only marathon that avoids them.
  4. It’s the 8th oldest marathon in the country and the longest continuously held running event in Michigan at 55 years.
  5. You’re also doing good while running. Nearly $7 million has been raised by charities from 2013 to 2016.
  6. The event includes a two-day health and fitness expo featuring over 120 exhibitors. Find some new running gear, or get some lifestyle tips.
  7. It’s all about the after party. CONQUERED is held on Sunday, Oct. 15 to celebrate racers and their accomplishments with families, friends and fellow runners.
