What is the best part about being a business owner in Detroit?

The best part about being a business owner in Detroit is that I have been able to build my business in the community where I grew up.

Why is the All Things Marketplace the perfect spot for visitors to Detroit?

All Things Marketplace is the perfect spot for visitors to shop. We are in a historic location. We also sell products created by local entrepreneurs and makers which we feel best represent the city of Detroit and the surrounding region. From non-profits like the Detroit Historical Society to local artists like Colibri The Artist, All Things Marketplace really is about All Things Detroit. If you want to get a feel for this city and everything that’s created here, stop by and see us.

What All Things events should be on the radar for visitors and residents alike?

All Things Back to School Weekend will be Aug. 27-28 at All Things Marketplace. We will host a family-friendly coloring event from 4-7 p.m. on Aug. 27 called Colors & Crafts with Sherrie Savage. Then from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2022, we will distribute 200 free “Cool Kids Look Like Me” branded book bags filled with donated school supplies. The anti-bullying, back-to-school event is for elementary-aged students and we want to show them how to handle themselves in a bullying scenario.

Other upcoming events in the space include our second All Things Art Show will be on September 23, 2022. See and purchase works by 10 local artists and meet them here at the shop. All Things Sports Fans is set for September 17. All of our sports apparel comes from our partners at the Detroit Historical Museum. We are hosting a big tailgate and shopping event so customers can purchase exclusive sports items. Also, Colibri the Artist will have special sports prints available at this event.

And I can’t forget our All Things Detroit Holiday Shopping Experience which will be Sunday, November 13 at Detroit’s Eastern Market.

What is on your must-see list in Detroit?

My must-see list in Detroit is the beautiful Beacon Park. It’s a great place to hang out on a Saturday Night for the Night Market and to hear local artists perform. Also, I love having lunch in Cadillac Square during the Downtown Street Eats program and if I’m looking for a shop I go to the Avenue of Fashion to shop local businesses that have been in the city for over 30 years.
