For one night only, The Preservation of Jazz Monday Night Music Series steps into the Friday spotlight with an unforgettable concert:

This intimate evening of live music will feature the magnetic husband-and-wife duo, Man and Sky Covington, blending their voices and spirits on stage with timeless tunes made famous by Abbey Lincoln, Bill Withers, and more. Accompanied by the legendary Pamela Wise Harrison Trio, the night promises deep soul, rich jazz tones, and a celebration of love, resilience, and artistic devotion.

Sky Covington, an 11-time Detroit Music Award winner and a renowned jazz vocalist, has captivated audiences for over two decades with her velvet tones and passionate performances. Founder of The Preservation of Jazz and Hug Detroit Day, she is also a dedicated community leader, cultural curator, and producer.

Man, a devoted husband and father, is a natural-born performer with an incredible voice and uplifting spirit. Though he once set aside his dream of singing to raise his children, he now steps fully into his calling, captivating audiences with heart and soul. This performance is a celebration of second chances, love, and the enduring power of jazz.
