Vibes With the Tribes is Michigan's premier celebration of Native American music and culture, now entering its fourth year. This year's expanded two-day festival will feature a captivating blend of pow wow traditions and a vibrant festival atmosphere. Enjoy live performances by renowned Indigenous artists from across Indian Country, showcasing a diverse range of musical styles, from hip hop and folk to traditional drum and dance. We invite you to join us in celebrating our rich heritage and contemporary expressions, fostering a sense of community among both local Native populations and the broader Anishinaabe community within the city limits.

Day 1 (Fri. 6/6) - The Detroit Woodland Showdown (1211 Trumbull Ave. Detroit 48216) 6 p.m.-11 p.m.

Experience the vibrant culture and dance of the Woodland Natives with contests in Mens Woodland, Womens Applique/Woodland, and Hand Drum singing. Enjoy a fry bread taco from our vendors while cheering on the deadliest dancers and singers!

Woodland style dances, are the expressions of our connection to the natural world, where movements embody the stories of our animal relatives. These dances, inspired by life within the woodlands, portrays the characteristics of our four-legged relatives serving as a powerful form of storytelling and cultural preservation.

Day 2 (Sat. 6/7) - Vibes With The Tribes Music + Culture Festival (1600 Clay St. Detroit 48211) 3 p.m.-12 a.m.

Michigan's First Native American Music Festival held on Anishinaabek land in Detroit, Michigan, otherwise known as Waawiyaatanong. Experience the heart of the festival with live performances, DJs, art installations, dancing, food, craft vendors, live painting, and more!
