American composer John Walter Bratton (1867-1947), known for crafting iconic children's songs such as "The Teddy Bears' Picnic," frequently wrote about the importance of fathers. One of his most famous quotes is, "Dad - a son's first hero, a daughter's first love."
Whether you call him Dad, Daddy, or Pops… a father figure is an influential person in one's life. To such an extent that nearly every nationality has a day to honor this parental figure. Since the early 1900s, the United States has designated the second Sunday in June to honor fathers and fatherhood, and the role of fathers in our society.
