“Germack Coffee Roasting Co. is my favorite place. They have the best coffee in Detroit. It’s located in historic Eastern Market, one of the oldest and largest year-round markets in the country.

Since I am a MoGo ambassador, I would definitely show my guests this amazing bike-sharing initiative that makes getting around downtown easy.

On Sundays, it’s Inn Season Cafe for brunch. They make the absolute best vegan pancakes. You will appreciate them even if you’re not vegan like me.

A visit to historic West Village is a wise choice for any day. My business is here, so obviously I’m partial. This quaint little neighborhood hosts a variety of women-owned businesses — Sister Pie, Brix, The Red Hook, The Lip Bar, Detroit Body Garage and Live Cycle Delight, of course. It’s tucked away right before Indian Village and minutes away from Belle Isle Park, another great place to bike.

The Detroit RiverWalk is also a city highlight. It’s accessible by bike and has a carousel, hotels, an amphitheater, fishing and marinas. It’s extremely peaceful, and you are able to see our neighbor Canada across the river, which is pretty cool. It’s perfect for summer with lots of opportunities to be active.”

Amina Daniels fell in love with cycling when she lived in New York City managing high-fashion retail locations for the likes of Michael Kors, Juicy Couture and Tommy Hilfiger. When she decided to come back home to her native Detroit, she set her personal passions for cycling and good style into action, looking for a way to transform the city into a front-runner in fitness innovation. Her philosophy, social media savviness and brick-and-mortar ideas got noticed. Daniels even won some big bucks in the entrepreneurial startup contest Hatch Detroit in 2015. More than a cycling studio, Live Cycle Delight is a hub for self-awareness and healthy habits — a sure-footed designated space for Detroit’s growing social and fitness community.
