Step into a Downton Abbey-inspired adventure on the Servant’s Life tour at Meadow Brook, exploring hidden corners of the mansion, witnessing staff at work, and ending with scones and tea in the historic Servants’ Dining Room.
Explore the secret lives of our downstairs staff – and see if you have what it takes to join them! Step back into history and witness what it was like to be in service at a grand estate, as Meadow Brook’s head housekeeper interviews you to be part of the staff.
This Downton Abbey-themed experience features a full cast of participants and surprises along the way, such as rarely shown areas of the historic mansion, from a recently renovated telephone closet to the linen closet and China vault filled with Prohibition-era liquor.

On our Servant’s Life tour, you’ll also encounter staff at work in a variety of tasks ironing, arranging flowers, dusting, mending a dress and beyond. Complete your afternoon with scones, jam, tea and milk in the Servants’ Dining Room.
