Overview
The City of Dearborn and Dearborn Downtown Development Authorities (DDAs) will hold a celebration of the city’s booming coffee culture beginning Friday, Nov. 8, 2024. The City and its DDA partners will host events throughout the inaugural program, which is modeled after the popular annual Dearborn Restaurant Week initiative, through Friday, Nov. 15.
Over 15 Dearborn-based coffee shops will participate in the week’s events, continuing to establish Dearborn’s status as a recognized “coffee capitol”. The free week-long event, which will feature several coffee-themed pop-up events throughout the city of Dearborn, is presented by Qahwah House, the Arab American National Museum, Ford Motor Company, Yelp Detroit, and Galata Sweets.
Beginning Friday, Nov. 8, participating businesses will be stationed at PEACE Park West, 22271 Michigan Ave, from 4 to 7 p.m. for a coffee-tasting kickoff event with coffee samples, food, activities, and live music.
From Nov. 9 -15, various local businesses will host unique coffee-themed pop-up activities throughout the city, including live music, game nights, and special promotions.
The week wraps up with a lecture on the background of coffee culture at the Arab American National Museum, 13624 Michigan Ave, on Friday, Nov. 15, from 4 - 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend Coffee Talk, featuring various local businesses, a strolling gallery, henna, and other activities.
