Just northwest of Detroit is a place called Northville where the downtown square is absolutely magical. Roads close to traffic at special times seasonally, so visitors can walk around freely without worry. Live music, coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques - it has everything.
Northville Square, if I had to give it an elevator pitch, is the ever-ritzy Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills meets the cozy, warm-even-when-it’s-chilly, small-town charm of Stars Hollow (for fellow fans of Gilmore Girls) - with its very own upgrade on Luke's Diner with Tuscan Cafe.
In short, the Northville Square is a dream, and one you'll love to spend a day with friends, family, a lover, or solo. It's also a very dog-friendly place to come and enjoy with your pup! Nothing compares to Northville Square. You're in for a treat!

Come hungry, lots to eat!
Main Street is the main event in Northville Square. Entering at the corner of Hutton and Main feels like a delicious exhale. You’ve made it to this sweet slice of paradise. No worries now. Enjoy the relaxation, the entertainment, and the delightful food everywhere! All restaurants listed here are located right on Main Street, starting with my personal favorite and current go-to, Exchange Bar and Grill. From the dreamy patio to the rooftop (!!!) - Northville’s only one - I’ve been back every time I’ve been back to The Square, and each time, it’s only better than before.
From the most intimate, divine dining like Table 5, to far more casual fare like my current go-to, Exchange Bar and Grill, there is a place for every palate’s preference.
Try 160 Main if you’re in the mood for Italian food. And if you’re really, really hungry, make the move to Genitti's Hole-in-the-wall, famous for 7-course, family-style Italian meals. Genitti’s is inside a gorgeous dinner-theater, where they host everything from stand-up comedy to drag queen bingo and murder mystery dinner events. Have your cake and laugh it off here!

On the fancy side with a splash of worldly flavor, Lucy & the Wolf boasts a global bistro with rustic-chic decor and a menu featuring small plates, charcuterie boards, and craft cocktails.
Other great eateries worth noting on Main Street in The Square include Great White Buffalo Brewing Co., Browndog Barlor & Restaurant, VillaNorte Cocina Mexicana, Le George Mediterranean Bar & Bistro, and Garage Grill and Fuel Bar. No choice is a wrong choice here!
All The Coffee
When you are full from dining at one of the many marvelous dining options in Northville Square, it’s time to make your way to Tuscan Cafe for the BBL of your wildest dreams.
No seriously, the Banana Bread Latte is worth every last calorie. I prefer it hot with oat milk myself - the oat brings out the banana flavor, and it is just sensational. Pumpkin spice who? Nope, it’s the BBL for me. Every time I go to Tuscan Cafe - BBL me, please. Try it! You’ll see.

Tuscan Cafe is also the best spot for enjoying the live music that happens just across the street, where the stage transcends the courtyard into a total dance party. Kids play and run around while adults relax and enjoy the music. Everyone is happy here. It feels like magic!
Right next door, the fresh baked bread smells absolutely amazing as soon as you step inside Great Harvest Bread Co. Grab a loaf to go, or something sweet. They have cookies and baked goods, but the bread is the prize - fresh, delicious, as you like it.
Shops Worth Shopping - Here’s the Tea!
While still on Main Street (the main event of The Square), you will start to see the shops worth shopping. To kick things off, Spice & Tea Merchants offers the largest selection of incredible tea that I have ever seen displayed in one place. They have over 250 types of tea, and they are all so gorgeous and beautifully displayed. It’s difficult to choose - so I suggest grabbing a couple to start with, then come back again to try a few more. Or go big and get them all at once. Whichever you prefer! The specialty teas make for great gifts for the tea lover in your life, too.

A few doors down, you’ll find Adorn. This is the most creative, exotic, secret garden of your wildest dreams. This magical place is described as a cutting edge, bespoke, floral design studio providing provocative creations from root to rose. I bought my beloved Olive Tree there just a few weeks ago. Adorn specializes in floral design for weddings, social gatherings, corporate events, parties and celebrations for Metro Detroit. Stop and smell the dreamy flowers here!
Moving right along, across the street you’ll find The Northville Gallery - Artwork & Framing. This was the first business I stepped foot into, mostly because my dog wanted to wander in (Frida has phenomenal taste, very posh) - and it was our first time visiting The Square. I was so glad we went inside! This place is a treasure trove of beautiful artwork waiting for a wall to call home. Check it out - you will be delighted.
At the corner of Main and Center, you’ll see Dancing Eye Gallery. This is another favorite! Full of all kinds of incredible, local art and home decor, plus a plethora of crafty, unique knick-knacks. It’s charming, bright, and full of spirit. I highly recommend checking out Dancing Eye Gallery!
Continuing down Center, you’ll see blackbird and Dear Prudence. They are also great stores worth walking into! Ladies’ clothes plus home decor items and accessories can be found here.

Across the street, you’ll see Celebrity Pets Co. - where all the pet lovers go, obviously! Then there’s the ice cream shop - Rebecca's Family Restaurant & Ice Cream Parlor. Down some more, you’ll find Town and Country Bike and Boards, and D&D Bicycles across the street.
We can’t mention shopping without sharing Kiloh and Co. just opened a storefront on Center, as well. This beloved small batch apparel brand based in Michigan is woman-owned and focused on all things game day for the girls. I visited and fell in love with the place. I was amazed at how busy it was! Word got out fast - and MI sports fans are fully invested in all things Kiloh and Co.

Northville Square has a lot to offer everyone, and the best way to experience it is to grab a pal and check it out! You will be so glad you did. And if you’re anything like me, you’ll be back again and again and again. The Square is where it’s at. Be there or be… well, see you at The Square!
