El Club
El Club, although an intimate venue that works with the underground scene, is an award winning venue that platforms world renowned acts. Sitting right off of I-75 in Southwest Detroit, El Club has featured local acts like Little Visits, Asaka The Renegade, and Ally Evenson, as well as acts like Ghostface Killah, Billie Eilish and Leon Thomas.
Lowkey
Lowkey is a venue and bar that features DJs like Nick Speed, Sheefy McFly, Eddie Logix, Full Body Durag and many more. Lowkey is located in the basement of a bar called Easy Peasy, tucked away under Woodward Avenue Downtown Detroit. It’s the perfect hidden Gem to find some of the best music that the Detroit Techno scene has to offer.
Pine Knob
A 45 minute drive from Downtown Detroit, Pine Knob is an iconic venue in Clarkston, Michigan. The venue is a lovely outdoor amphitheater surrounded by a grassy hill that is a destination venue for touring acts and their fans. The Pine Knob stage has been graced by legendary acts like Diana Ross, Beastie Boys, Run DMC, The Black Keys, Big Sean, and Selena Gomez and The Scene. They even hosted Lollapalooza in the summer of 1991.
Orchestra Hall
The Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) is an important piece of the Detroit music scene, upholding the culture of classical music in the city. Usually occupying Orchestra Hall, the DSO performs historical pieces from composers like Mozart and Beethoven, as well as pieces from film scores like Harry Potter, Love Actually and Pirates Of The Caribbean. This is your opportunity to pull out that old tux or gown to bask in the posh experience of attending an orchestra concert.
Majestic Theater Complex
In the heart of Midtown, Majestic Theater Complex consists of The Majestic Theater, The Magic Stick, The Alley Deck, Garden Bowl (bowling alley), and The Crane Mezzanine and Lounge. The venue attracts touring artists with niche and cult followings. Past shows include Foster The People, Dillon Frances, Noname and The Detroit Cobras. Making appearances in the near future are Skrilla, Michigander, PVRIS, Ghost Note and Earl Sweatshirt.
Hunt Street Station
A social and coworking space by day, and event and concert venue by night, Hunt Street Station is a venue where you can get a taste of the local Detroit music scene. They had a busy 2025
spring and summer season with their recurring Dusk To Dawn series, Niko Noir’s “Who Can Blame Niko?” Album Release, MAF Fest and the several other events they had on their calendar. Keeping up with Hunt Street Station is a good way to dip your toes into the waters of Detroit’s local music scene.
Paramita Sound
Paramita Sound is a discrete spot off of Broadway Street that exists as a quaint record shop during the day and, when the sun goes down, transforms into a lively nightclub. Hosting music exchanges, local DJ sets and open decks, Paramita attracts music and nightlife enthusiasts native to Detroit and those visiting from elsewhere.
St Andrew’s Hall & The Shelter
St Andrew’s Hall is a prominent venue in Detroit with The Shelter, another venue, located in the basement. The venue hosts acts like Zack Fox, Boris, and Kamasi Washington, and is known
for being the venue where Eminem first began to gain recognition.
Motor City Wine
Motor City Wine is a cozy winery off of Michigan Avenue in Corktown. They have an event schedule that is filled with residencies and food pop ups. Every first Friday of the month is taken over by the Russ Macklem Quartet; the Allen Dennard Trio every fourth Friday. On the second Sunday of each month Raquel Cocina serves Mexican food, while Kusina serves Filipino Food on third Sundays.
TV Lounge
TV Lounge is an indoor and outdoor venue with a social atmosphere. With two DJ booths on the inside, and a stage on their outside patio that is made use of in the warmer months, TV Lounge is an energetic venue where DJs like Kevin Saunderson, sillygirlcarmen, Disc Jockey George, NAYT and jamea. get people moving on the dance floor.
Cliff Bells
Cliff Bells is a classic jazz club and a Detroit Classic. Cliff Bells features acts like Louis Jones III, Urban Art Orchestra, Tariq Gardner and even the University of Michigan Big Band. The world class talent combined with their world class menu create a musical dining experience that you’re sure to remember.
