Kicking things off with a bang is the return of Plug and Play with Automobili-D on Sept. 13-14.

Blink Author Malcolm Gladwell Takes the Wheel
Among the impressive lineup of speakers for the first-ever Mobility Global Forum, taking place during Media and Technology days, is globally renowned author Malcolm Gladwell. You may know him for his New York Times best-selling book, “Blink,” or for another titled, “Outliers.” He also wrote NYT bestsellers, “The Tipping Point,” “David and Goliath,” “What the Dog Saw,” and “Talking to Strangers.” Gladwell will headline the event.
EGOT Jennifer Hudson Takes the Stage
EGOT is an endearing acronym for an incredible, quadruple accomplishment, of which Jennifer Hudson is the youngest to ever hold the four major performing-arts awards in North America: Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony. Hudson will be here to take the stage at the event’s highly regarded spectacle, Charity Preview on Friday, Sept. 15.
Following Hudson’s performance, Shaggy will later grace the Atrium Stage with his hit songs we all know the words to, like “It Wasn’t Me” and “Angel.” Be ready to sing along!
The Charity Preview has raised more than $100 million for children's charities in the last 25 years, benefiting major community staples, such as The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan, The Children’s Center, The Children’s Foundation, plus a few more nonprofits.
This year’s Detroit Auto Show will feature a brand new indoor EV Experience for visitors to see for themselves the variety of electric vehicles available. Sitting shotgun to a professional driver, attendees will enjoy the thrill of a serpentine track that includes an acceleration lane stretching further than 300 feet. So click-it or ticket, let's see your seat belt fastened. Trunk rattlin'... right into this exciting annual North American International Auto Show taking place in The Motor City.
