The stores are stocked with ghouls, goblins, and ghosts (with the most!). Pretty little pumpkins are peppering all over everything. Trees’ leaves are turning from green to golden, and the slight chill in the air is getting ever crisper.

Don’t Miss This: Detroit Harvest Fest
Mark your calendar for what’s been called the Best Food Truck Gathering, because it’s coming back this October with an extra special addition: The grand opening of the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Centennial Park will take place with The Detroit Harvest Fest & Food Truck Rally. Come hungry! Last year’s fest featured over 50 food trucks and six music stages with an abundance of fun activities, making it a dynamic Detroit destination for the whole family to enjoy together!

Halloween in the D
The list is long of Trunk-or-Treat Activities at Detroit Police Precincts and Fire Stations this year!
The same is true for The Parks and Recreation Division, which is offering a variety of activities at Recreation Centers all throughout Detroit on October 31st, including haunted Houses, carnival games, face painting, DJs, and more! If that’s not enough, Detroit will also host Scar Fest and Fall Fest as part of Halloween in the D festivities this year!

Trunk or Treat, Turkey Farm, and Lots More for Tots Galore
Gotta catch ‘em all, or as many as you have time for this spooky szn! From costume and trunk decorating contests to food and fall treats available, plus raffles, games, music, and more - Wyandotte is the place to be this October for community-sponsored Trunk or Treats galore. Bring your kiddos - small and smaller - dress ‘em up, and prepare to enjoy all the kid-friendly Fall festivities in and around Detroit this spooky szn!
Huron Turkey Farm opens at the tail end of September. This is a top destination for picking pumpkins, visiting with and feeding friendly farm animals, grabbing fresh donuts and hot cider, and seeing some of the spooky szn’s best local offerings, all for a pretty reasonable price, too. This is the perfect place to bring kiddos, especially - more festive fun for the whole family to enjoy as one!
Speaking of Cider… Mills!
Detroit’s 105.1 The Bounce with Lisha B and Clay has been tapping listeners for the best of Detroit’s fall offerings, and we’re listening! Just this morning, a caller suggested Yates Historic Cider Mill. This place is literally Michigan’s Oldest Working Water Powered Mill. We’re talking fresh donuts, crisp cider, homemade baked goods, and plenty of family-friendly fun. Can you taste the Fall in the air? It’s sweeter at cider mills like Yates. We’ll see you there.Franklin Cider Mill is another fan favorite located in Bloomfield Hills. Franklin Cider Mill is known for the dreamy, doughy donuts baked fresh daily and served warm. Yum!
If you’re feeling up to apple-picking for baking pies or making your own cider at home, then Blake’s Farms is the place to go North of Detroit! They have a fabulous U-Pick orchard with a bounty of fresh fruits and vegetables. Blake’s Orchard Funland and Blake’s Big Apple Funland also host a smorgasbord of activities to enjoy, such as petting farms, mazes, and plenty more festive fun. Other cider spots just north of the city that you’ll see include Stony Creek Orchard & Cider, Big Red Orchard, Verellen Orchards & Cider Mill, and Westview Orchards & Winery.
If you feel like venturing west of Detroit, you’ll land upon Plymouth Orchards and Cider Mill, Parmenter’s Northville Cider Mill, and Three Cedars Farm. All fabulous places for enjoying all things Fall, from pumpkin patches to apple picking, snacking on fresh baked treats, and more!

Haunts For Your Best Scream
Get your scream ready, because there is no shortage of haunted houses to check out this spooky szn in the D. From the three houses at Hush Haunted Attraction to the haunted forest scream theme at Deranged Haunt, and the thrilling rush of The Scream Machine on Northline - which one will you visit first? Can you brave all three?Wiard’s Orchards Haunted Thrill Park in Ypsilanti is 89 acres of terror so scary, it’s literally recommended for adults only. Children under the age of 10 are not advised, and children over age 10 can only come if they are accompanied by an adult. The iconic, anticipated Night of Terrors features five haunted attractions all in one spot - the Ultimate Haunted Barn, The Asylum, The Mind Shaft, Hayride of the Lost, and Alien Caged Clowns.
Other haunts worth visiting are Eloise Asylum in Westland, where you’ll find scary entertainment along with historical tours related to the actually infamous Eloise Asylum. Check out Haunted Erebus in Pontiac and the Slay Nights Haunted House in Howell.
