Detroit, February 11, 2025 – Embodying the bold yet welcoming spirit of the Motor City, Visit Detroit proudly announces a game-changing partnership with one of Detroit’s top DJs, DJ Killa $quid. Known for her genre-blending sets and deep-rooted connection to the city’s music culture, DJ Killa $quid is a force in Detroit’s creative landscape. This collaboration highlights the new Visit Detroit brand, “When We Move, You Move,” with an authentic and bold approach to storytelling.
This partnership marks a departure from conventional destination marketing, giving precedence to the voice of local talent to articulate the distinctive stories shaping Detroit.

“I’ve always wanted to highlight women because we are the underdogs when it comes to a lot of things,” says DJ Killa $quid. “One of the things that I really love about Visit Detroit is that they are in tune with who the creatives in the city are. Kicking off in February 2025, the partnership will unfold across social media through visual storytelling, offering an insider’s perspective on Detroit’s sound and energy. DJ Killa $quid will curate content featuring the city’s most exciting music venues, Detroit’s top DJs and musical pioneers, the underground scene, must-experience events, and more.
This partnership follows Visit Detroit’s game-changing 2024 collaboration with Detroit creative Amber M. Lewis as Detroit’s CEO (Chief Energy Officer), and is part of a growing group of Detroit Ambassadors joining forces with Visit Detroit to share Detroit’s story.
