Every year, SATW hosts a new event designed for networking, one-on-one meetings, and connecting writers and publishers with destinations and businesses for exciting writing opportunities. These events also feature speeches from industry experts and guided tours of the host city. This year, we’re excited to host our annual convention in Detroit, Michigan.

Transportation in Detroit
Detroit Air Express (DAX)
DAX is a new airport shuttle offering 16 daily round-trips from downtown Detroit to DTW. The shuttle runs every day from 3:30am to 11pm. Tickets are $8 at the door and $6 for reservations.
Pick-Up And Drop-Off Locations: Downtown Detroit stop on the west side of Washington Blvd near State St. Departures at the McNamara Terminal, and Ground Transportation at the Evans Terminal.
The Detroit People Mover
The Detroit People Mover, an elevated and automated light-rail system, can help you get around downtown quickly, easily and safely. The 2.9-mile looped system, which can be completed in approximately 15 minutes, has 13 stations, with automatic stops at key downtown locations including Huntington Place, GM Renaissance Center and Greektown.
QLine
A 3.3-mile circulating streetcar running along Woodward Avenue between Congress Street and West Grand Boulevard in downtown Detroit. The QLine stretches from downtown through New Center and drops you off near prime locations, including: Little Caesars Arena, The Detroit Institute of Arts and the Museum of Contemporary Art. Headways ranging from 8 to 12 minutes. The streetcar route has 20 stations serving 12 locations.
