Things to Do in Detroit During the Auto Show
Modified: September 13, 2022 | Story by Amelia RitterThe North American International Auto Show is back after two years and better than ever! Having moved from January to September, NAIAS is celebrating its 115th year in style with activations all over the city. Looking for other ways to spend your time while you’re in town from September 14-25? Check out these options below!
Greektown: No trip to Greektown is complete without a visit to Astoria Pastry Shop, the only challenge is picking what you want to try. Make a night of it and press your luck at Greektown Casino. Polish off the night with a stop at Golden Fleece for the best gyro in town.
Renaissance Center: Check out Michigan’s tallest building and Detroit’s iconic skyline staple, the Renaissance Center. While you’re exploring, you’ll have 29 restaurants to choose from, including Joe Muer Seafood, Andiamo, and a 1,100-seat food court.

Campus Martius: Hang out at the park and enjoy the fall weather! Grab a bite to eat at Parc or a food truck from Downtown Street Eats. You can also enjoy a cocktail at BrisaBar, an Instagram-worthy new seasonal spot in the park.
Canfield Street: Explore a bit outside of downtown in one of Detroit’s hottest neighborhoods – Midtown. The Shinola flagship store and Jack White’s Third Man Records are must-sees. Midtown is foodie-heaven. Grab a bite at La Feria, or Selden Standard, and wash it down with a brew at Jolly Pumpkin, Motor City Brewing Works, or HopCat.
Detroit Month of Design: Detroit Month of Design is back for its 12th annual citywide celebration of creativity that calls upon designers and the greater Detroit community to come together and celebrate the city’s role as an international design capital. The 2022 festival will host over 70 events and experiences that can be enjoyed in open-air spaces, indoors, on-demand, and virtually. See all events and installations here.
