During the 2024 NFL Draft weekend, Detroit proved that we are THAT city! We showed the world what we've always know - when we move, you move. Over 775,000 people got to experience our magic while watching football dreams come true, seeing the proudest fans in the world show out, and enjoying the sights, sounds, and tastes of Detroit.
We’re still on cloud nine from this unforgettable weekend with the excitement of the Draft, setting records, and putting the world on notice. Check out the highlights from some of the best of Detroit's most talented local creators, relive the glory, and see all of the excitement through their eyes.
To help the city get ready for the draft, the On the Clock Tour was born and gave way to celebrations throughout the seven Detroit neighborhood districts, as well as various Detroit metro area locations. People attended the tour for free, and it included food trucks, arcade games, arts and crafts, interactive Detroit Lions inflatables, and appearances from Detroit Lions mascot Roary!
On the Monday before the NFL Draft, the Detroit Sports Commission hosted a special afternoon dedicated to recognizing non-profit partners, grant recipients, Detroit donors, minority and diverse-owned businesses, and various impactful programs that have shaped the journey in welcoming the Draft to Detroit.
In celebration of the NFL Draft, Prop Art Studios has fabricated twenty colossal football cleats which have been customized by talented local Detroit artists. Each artist has chosen a Detroit-based cause, non-profit, or charity and has partnered with local organizations for a unique project: designing custom cleats to uplift important causes they're passionate about.
