1. Bucharest Grill is an excellent choice for an inexpensive lunch or a late night feast. Try the Bucharest Shawarma with grilled marinated chicken breast, cabbage, tomato, fries (yep, fries), pickles, mayo and garlic spread wrapped in a pita for just $5.95. 2. Bobcat Bonnie’s offers high quality, beautifully presented gastropub fare at a great value, including several vegan and vegetarian options. On weekends, you can’t go wrong with any of the sweet or savory brunch dishes pared with a build-your-own Bloody Mary or Mimosa. A great stop before a Detroit Lions football game, with locations in Corktown, Ferndale, Wyandotte and coming soon to The Mall at Partridge Creek in Macomb County.
3. Pegasus Taverna in Greektown serves up generous portions of authentic Greek dishes at budget friendly prices. Try the saganaki (flaming cheese appetizer), gyros, spanakoteropeta (spinach pie), avgolemono (lemon rice soup) or Greek salad. Also located in St. Clair Shores.
4. Detroit’s Mexicantown in southwest Detroit is full of affordable and fun dining options. It’s always a fiesta at Mexican Village. Amazing, freshly prepared dishes include enchiladas, quesadillas, burritos, tostadas or flautas served with rice and beans.

5. There’s always room for a slice of pizza from Supino Pizzeria in historic Eastern Market. The 12-inch Supino signature pie boasts roasted garlic, black olives, chili oil, ricotta and mozzarella. Yum!
6. One of the best way to start your day in Detroit is at Hudson Café. From sweet or savory crepes to creative twists on omelets, waffles, pancakes and French toast, they do breakfast proud at one of Detroit’s favorite breakfast spots.
7. Shangri-La in Midtown offers authentic Cantonese dishes, sushi, dim sum all day and a handful of Thai curry dishes and reasonable prices. Popular among college students and Detroiters alike.

8. The side-by-side American and Lafayette Coney Island restaurants each offer chili topped hot dogs served with chopped onions and mustard on a steamed bun. You may have to try both restaurants to pick your favorite – it’s a delicious Detroit tradition.
