No matter how old you are, an arcade is always fun. Whether you play old-school games, pinball machines, or even the newer games that are coming out, people can have a blast for hours at the arcade.
In the past few years, the trend of arcades combining with bars and restaurants has grown, and metro Detroit has also seen that increase. If you’re looking to spend your quarters, here are some of the best arcades in metro Detroit.
Pop + Offworld
Right outside of Campus Martius Park in Downtown Detroit, you’ll find Checker Bar, and on the second floor is Pop + Offworld, an arcade bar with fun for all ages.
The bar offers a variety of games from the 80s and 90s like Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, and more, plus a row of pinball machines.
They also have a full bar with drinks for people of all ages and serve up delicious pizza, burgers, and more.
Barcade is located in Detroit’s Midtown neighborhood, and they have dozens of games and pinball machines to play.
Some of those games include Asteroids, Galaga, Joust, and more.
They also offer a full bar and kitchen with food including coney fries, burgers, wraps, sandwiches, and more.
They also have a variety of events, including Monday pinball meetups for $5.
Grand River Ballroom
In the basement of Detroit Beer Exchange in Downtown Detroit, Grand River Ball Room has a variety of pinball machines, other games where you can win prizes, bocce ball, skeeball, bubble hockey, and more.
They have a cooler serving up cans of cold beer and some liquor drinks, plus pizza and donuts.
Marvin’s Marvelous Mechanical Museum
About 30 minutes outside of Detroit, Marvin’s Marvelous Mechanical Museum is home to various arcade games, pinball machines, other coin-operated machines, and much more.
When you step inside, it will feel like you’ve stepped back in time. It was founded by Sam Yagoda who ran a corner store and started collecting machines as a hobby. Now, the entire museum is real and you can play the games.
On top of skeeball, arcade games, and pinball, you might be able to play one-of-a-kind games that you’ve never seen before.
Rev’d Up Fun in Woodhaven
About 30 minutes south of Detroit is Rev’d Up Fun in Woodhaven, which has a huge arcade for people of all ages.
The arcade has over 50 machines scattered throughout the floor and you can win tickets to trade for prizes.
On top of the arcade, they also have a ropes course, zip line, bumper bars, virtual reality arena, axe throwing, and a three-story play structure complete with foam balls.
It also has a full bar and kitchen, and it is available to rent for parties.
Universal Nonstop in Warren
Universal Nonstop has more than 50 arcade games at its location in Farmington Hills and you can also win tickets for prizes.
On top of the arcade, they have a full bar and kitchen.

Perfect Game in Farmington Hills
While the name Perfect Game is a bowling term, the location has much more than bowling. The arcade has 53 state-of-the-art games, according to the website, and a place where you can redeem your winnings for prizes.
As mentioned, they also have bowling and a two-story laser tag arena.
CJ Barrymore’s in Clinton Township
CJ Barrymore’s is a massive indoor and outdoor entertainment complex about 35 minutes from Downtown Detroit in Macomb County.
Their arcade features over 100 games in a 10,000-square-foot space, and you can wind hundreds of prizes.
Other indoor attractions include bowling, bumper cars, a gold dome, laser tag, mini bowling, and more.
Outdoor attractions include a drop tower, Ferris wheel, spring coaster, batting cages, go-karts, bumper boats, mini golf, and more.
