Overview
Join us at the historic War Memorial the evening of Friday, April 17th for a brand new cocktail class featuring “America’s Native Spirit”- bourbon! During the course of the 2.5 hour class, guests will learn to make, and then enjoy, three full-size cocktails, along with delectable snacks prepared by the War Memorial.
Throughout the evening, local cocktail historian Beth Vandergrift from Liquor and Lore will demonstrate how to make each cocktail, then the guests will each make their own cocktail and imbibe while Beth shares the stories behind the spirits. We'll discuss the history of bourbon, defined by congress in 1964 as a "Distinctive Product of the United States”, and its evolution as a cocktail ingredient using three tipples popular in the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries in America.
