Back to Cool Shopping: Fall in Love with Detroit's Best Boutiques
Story by Brittney Schering
Online shopping had its moment, but nothing beats the hype of trying on a cool new dress that fits like a glove inside a fitting room at a trendy boutique. Detroit's full of fashion with plenty of amazing shops on offer, perfect for a day of nostalgic, yet timeless retail therapy. Remember that? With sweater weather right around the bend, give your wardrobe a fun Fall refresh with a well-timed visit to Detroit's best and most chic, unique boutiques.
Everyone Loves A Good Neighbor
This shop was the first I visited when in search of a breezy dress for a photoshoot with Detroit’s beloved Shelby Dubin Photography for a local, luxury home organizing service called Neat Method just a few weeks back. The look was light, chic and luxury - and it sounded like the perfect opportunity to do some shopping at Detroit’s best boutiques.
Luckily, I found what I set out to discover at Good Neighbor in Parker's Alley, surrounded by the high-fashion hub of downtown Detroit. The quality of everything on offer inside this sophisticated shop was beyond impressive. Find what you’re looking for - from cozy sweaters to timeless dresses, pants, shoes, and accessories. I’ll be back soon to stock up for the chilly autumn days ahead. Let’s be honest - Who doesn’t love a Good Neighbor? This one is worth all the hype.
Elevate Your Style with a Dose of Luxury
Luxury lives at the corner of Library Street and Grand River Avenue, just one block over from Woodward and right around the bend from Parker’s Alley. This gorgeous, emerald green-framed storefront is home to the iconic brand, Gucci.
Step inside to see shelves of luxury awaiting their new home. Perhaps it is yours. Check out fellow Visit Detroit writer Liz McGuffin of With Wonder and Whimsy, to see her unboxing of the Gucci Jackie 1961 small hobo bag. The quality is immaculate! This is an investment piece and a high-fashion nod all-in-one. Elevate your style with a dose of luxury at Gucci in Detroit.
Shine Bright like a Diamond in the D
Soon we will be able to step through the doors of the much-anticipated Savage X Fenty shop on Woodward, still slated to open this year. From sleepwear to sportswear and everything in between and underneath, this celebrity brand was built to infuse confidence and joy all around.
Rihanna’s exclusive lingerie and loungewear line storefront lives right by Lululemon and Warby Parker, and not far from Shinola Hotel on the previously mentioned prime spot, Parker’s Alley.
