Curated by Chef Genevieve Vang and inspired by her Hmong heritage, Bangkok 96 offers a wide selection of authentic Thai cuisine. Menu selections include their famous Pad Thai roll, a crispy fried chicken bowl, a shrimp bowl, their 96 Grilled chicken, spring rolls and much more! In addition, if you are looking for vegetarian or vegan options, Bangkok 96 has you covered!
Momo Cha
Chef Anjani Lama brings homestyle Nepalese dumplings and other traditional dishes to DSC! Each dumpling is crafted using a traditional and authentic South Asian spice blend which includes ginger, garlic, cilantro, cumin, turmeric, and masala blends. Options at Momo Cha include vegetarian, chicken, and pork momos, curries, butter chicken, Tikka Masala, and many more traditional dishes!
Halal Street
As if it were straight from New York, Chef Ismail brings his customers traditional New York Street food all of which is Halal. Some of Halal Street’s options include rice platters (chicken, lamb, and mixed options available), chicken tenders, Crazy fries, pita wraps (chicken, falafel, and Philly cheese steak options available), and quesadillas to name a few!
Motor Burger
Chef and restaurateur Jay Soullierre brings his burgers and poutine from just across the river in Windsor! Motor Burger has a wide variety of options including delicious burger options for vegetarians. Options at Motor Burger include poutine, fries, the Flyin Hawaiian (chargrilled beef, jalapeno, bacon jam, grilled pineapple, sriracha mayo, and lettuce), the Veg Engine (chickpea patty made with lentils, butter beans, oats, pumpkin, and sunflower seeds with curry, garlic, and fresh cilantro), and nachos to name a few of the many options on the Motor Burger menu.
-320 Coffee and Creamery
Curated by Nisharth Patel, -320 brings their customers delicious in-house-made ice cream, rich coffee, and a great selection of non-coffee drinks. Some of the many options at -320 include Bischoff chai ice cream, double stuffed chocolate Oreo ice cream, an affogato, lattes, cold brew, chai, matcha, and hot chocolate!
COOP Caribbean Chicken
Since the writing of the article, Chef Max of Coop has passed away. Since his passing, Coop is no longer operating in Detroit Shipping Company. We extend our condolences to his friends, family, and the community he served.
Retail and Art
David Vintage
David Vintage is a Haute Couture Streetwear brand that is sourced and based in Detroit according to the DSC website. David Vintage uses the best material to create Detroit-centric and minimalistic designs. David Vintage creates both men’s and women’s clothing, accessories, outwear, athletic wear, and much more! David Vintage also offers dye workshops where participants are taught how to dye their own clothing and accessories including the instruction of Dye Master and founder of David Vintage, Joseph David. David Vintage can be found on the second level of DSC.
The Galleries
The entire second level of DSC is dedicated to the galleries. The galleries, curated by Disco Walls, support the local art scene in Detroit. Artists bring their drawings, paintings, photography, and unique stories to the patrons of DSC. Each artist does a gallery opening, and all upcoming artists can be found here. In addition to art shows, DSC is filled with public art on its walls all of which are permanent displays.

Other Things to Do at DSC
Detroit Shipping Company isn’t only home to food, it is also home to live performances, events, and private events.
Events
Beginning in the summer, DSC offers live music on Fridays and Saturdays May through October in their beer garden. Enjoy live music, drinks, and home-style meals from one (or many!) of the restaurants onsite!
DSC also hosts events throughout the year. In February, they held their very first Winterfest celebration which aimed to celebrate Pride and Love on Valentine’s Day weekend! In addition, DSC also hosts a yearly Octoberfest, Full Plates Full Hearts in November, watch parties for Detroit teams, and adoption events with local animal rescues. DSC also hosts a party with entertainment (stilt walkers, jugglers, music, and, this year, Zippy the mini horse) after Marche Du Nain Rouge every March and will be hosting watch parties with food and drink specials (and other fun activities) during the NFL Draft!
Private Events
Interested in booking your next event with DSC? DSC offers a wide variety of rental space options for your event! From full buyouts and half buyouts to space in their beer garden, back tent, and bridge lounge, the event staff at DSC will help you curate an event plan best suited to your needs! Food and drink allowances are also worked into your private event reservations, so you don’t have to worry about arranging catering or figuring out food and drink options on your big event day.
DSC works with clients for all types of events. Weddings, birthdays, vow renewals, networking events, conferences, board meetings, post-parties, pre-parties, and more are all available to host at DSC.
