Detroit's Best Bites with Girls Gone Hungry

Story by @girlsgonehungry

Holly and Gina, better known as @girlsgonehungry, are two girls who love to eat and share their favorite foodie finds from Detroit with their Instagram and blog audience.

To celebrate a new year of dining possibilities, they teamed up with Visit Detroit to tell you their top 10 picks for 2023. Check them out!

Basan

Basan is great for date night or girl’s night before an event downtown. It's just steps away from Little Caesar's Arena, so be sure to make your reservation next time you have tickets!

Freya

This spot is always an amazing dining experience with excellent food, cocktails, and service! The whole 5-course dining experience at this farm-to-table restaurant lasts 1.5 to 3 hours, so get ready for an evening of luxury.

Madam

Madam has delicious food and cocktails! They are located in the heart of downtown Birmingham, in the Daxon Hotel. We dream about their sourdough bread!

Grandma Bobs

We love their vegan options - especially the milkshakes! Grandma Bob's is a great spot for all of our veggie friends and has some of our fave Detroit-style pizza in Detroit. This spot is a must-try for your next visit to Corktown.

The Monarch Club

This is our go-to spot for rooftop cocktails on a fancy night out. They also feature small plates for sharing and a view that you cannot beat!

Frame Bar

Frame Bar is a hidden gem in hazel park with rotating pop-ups. Every time you go you get a new dining experience! With traveling chefs and new menus, it's always a great choice and great for when you want to try something new.

Mai Tiki and Tigerlily

This is a fabulous new spot in Ferndale for sushi and has a hidden tiki bar inside! Enjoy small plates, creative cocktails, and sake flights.

Brew Detroit Taproom

This is a great spot for craft beer and bar food. It is the perfect spot for tailgating before events downtown, just a short distance away from Little Caesar's Arena and Ford Field.

Ladder 4 Wine Bar

Ladder 4 has a fantastic wine selection and a gorgeous interior. It is located in a historic firehouse in Southwest Detroit.

Olin

Find great cocktails at Olin, as well as delicious food! The short rib burger is a must-try! Olin is right next to the Shinola Hotel downtown, making it the perfect place for a nightcap!
