ROOST was part of the seven-year, $400 million development of the historic Book Tower in downtown Detroit. Originally constructed back in 1916, the Book Tower skyscraper is a symbol of Detroit’s heyday and has now been restored to its former glory.
What to Expect
Visitors to Detroit looking for a high-design, home-away-from-home experience will enjoy a stay at ROOST – the city’s first apartment hotel concept, housed within the Book Tower. Units consist of studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments.

The Godfrey Hotel (Opened September 2023

Development
Following two years of construction in Corktown, the Godfrey Hotel opened in September 2023. The development project exceeded $75 million and is set on the site of the original Carhartt factory in Detroit.
What to Expect
Contemporary luxury is the name of the game at the new Godfrey Hotel. The hotel is set up with events in mind – whether conferences in their 5,000+ square foot garden or weddings in their rooftop bar, IO Rooftop Lounge, which features retractable glass walls.
Guests will particularly enjoy dining at Hamilton’s, the upscale American fare restaurant helmed by head chef Samy Eid.
Hotel rooms feel spacious and modern, featuring ultra-fast wifi, Bose Bluetooth speakers, C.O. Bigelow bath products, 65-inch televisions, and more amenities.
Cambria Downtown Detroit (Opened October 2023)

Development
A four-year $70 million development project breathed new life into the Albert Kahn-designed Walker-Roehrig Building in downtown Detroit. The building, which housed the original WWJ radio station, opened its doors in October 2023 as the Cambria Hotel.
What to Expect
In a nod to the building’s historic roots, the Cambria Hotel infuses its design with art deco and touches of modernity.
It is both a business and leisure traveler’s dream. The extensive event space includes ballrooms, meeting rooms, and rooftop space. In the lobby, guests can play golf simulators at Five Iron Golf, go duck pin bowling, or lounge in front of large TV screens with a taco from Detroit Taco Bodega.
The hotel’s on site restaurant, Cibo, offers Detroit-influenced Mediterranean cuisine, and Cielo, the rooftop bar, is the most recent dining option to open (May 2024).
