Buddy’s Pizza (several locations)

The original Detroit-style pizza, Buddy’s continues to expand throughout the area. There are locations in Dearborn, Detroit, Linvoia, Plymouth and Woodhaven. Make sure to try the classic cheese and pepperoni pizza. Learn more about Buddy’s Pizza here.

Michigan and Trumbull

Named for its original location, Michigan & Trumbull is currently moving to a new location but serves up New York-style and Detroit-style pizza. Try the Packard Pepperoni or the Cadieux e Pepe white pizza.

Pie Sci

Roman Village in Dearborn

Near the Ford plant in Dearborn, Roman Village has been serving Italian food, including pizza, for nearly 60 years. Their hand-tossed pizza is from their dad’s recipe, and you can build your own if you don’t want a margherita pizza or the Antonio’s special.

Fredi The PizzaMan in Melvindale

Fredi Bello, known as Fredi The PizzaMan, has been serving up delicious slices in Melvindale since 1981. His pies sell out nearly every day, so be sure to get there early to try one of the best pizzas in Michigan.

Frank’s Pizzeria in Wyandotte

Right in the hart of Wyandotte, Frank’s has been around since 1952 on Biddle Ave. starting with Frank Persichillo. They serve specialty round pizzas or Detroit-style pizzas with a ton of toppings. You can also get salads, cheese bread, meatballs and more for sides.

Francesca’s Brick Oven Pizzeria in Brownstown Twp.

Francesca’s is serving up Napoletana-style pizza south of Detroit with a raised, slightly charred crust that is still chewy. They even imported their hot brick oven from Italy! They have a variety of pizzas with fresh ingredients, but make sure to try the Originale Napoletana, which is tomato sauce with roasted garlic.

Pizza e Vino in Plymouth

You can get some of the best brick-oven pizza at Pizza e Vino, which translates to pizza and wine. They were the first restaurant to be certified by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana in Naples, Italy, the True Neoapolitan Pizza Association. They have more than a dozen different red and white pizzas to go with a large wine list.

Bigalora in Plymouth

“At Bigalora, we are all about the pizza!” is the first thing you’ll read on the Bigalora website. Their pizzas are made with sourdough, and they have different red pizzas with house-made tomato sauce and white pizzas with garlic oil instead of tomato sauce. You can even get a dessert Nutella pizza.

Belle Isle Pizza

Just a few blocks away from Belle Isle in Detroit’s West Village, Belle Isle Pizza offers stone-fired artisanal pizzas. You can get hand-tossed round or Detroit deep dish with signature pizzas, rotating specials or a build-your-own pizza.

Silvio’s Trattoria e Pizzeria in Canton

The Medoro family has been running Silvio’s in Canton and serves up signature Neapolitan style pizza, which you can also order vegan or gluten-free. They have a variety of pizzas including sausage and rapini, blueberry, truffle pizza, and more.
