The love for coffee continues to brew, and more people are experimenting with coffee, roasting coffee, unique drinks and more.

There aren’t many better ways to spend some down time than with a hot cup of coffee inside a cool place with a great atmosphere.

If you’re looking to explore different coffee shops, here are some great ones in Wayne County.

Cafe 1923 Coffeehouse in Hamtramck
Not far from the highway and Downtown Hamtramck, Cafe 1923 looks like it’s in an old house. They have different rooms where you can sit down and relax, or maybe even grab a book in the library room. On top of coffee, they serve different pastries and other hot drinks.

Kitab Cafe and Bookstore in Hamtramck
Kitab is open every day in Hamtramck with a variety of coffee, tea, other hot drinks and more. They also serve pastries and breads from Zingerman’s in Ann Arbor, plus delicious sandwiches.

If you’re feeling adventurous, you can try their draft coffee drinks.

Lucky Detroit in Grosse Pointe Park
Lucky Detroit has several locations around metro Detroit, and they roast all of their coffee and personally select the beans they use. They also sell their beans to go if you want to take the Lucky Detroit flavor home with you.

Each location also does handcrafted drinks, sells pastries and more.

Morning Glory Coffee & Pastries in Grosse Pointe Farms
Morning Glory has a ton of different drinks ranging from regular black coffee to handcrafted beverages and nitro cold brew. Their charming location in Downtown Grosse Pointe Farms also has pastries, grab-and-go food items and homemade cakes.

Plymouth Coffee Bean Company in Plymouth
Inside an old house in Plymouth, the Plymouth Coffee Bean Company says it’s the longest-running independent coffee shop in Michigan. They have brewed, fresh-ground coffee, espresso drinks and tea.

They’re also known for their crepes, which are made fresh, and live music, including an open-mic night on Monday.

The Red Dot Coffee Company in Northville
The owners of The Red Dot say they are “awakening one another to the beauty of craft coffee, conversation and companionship.” The coffee shop is in a historic former restaurant, and roast their coffee in-house and has been doing that for five years.

You can grab full bags of coffee to take home, or even sign up for a coffee subscription where you can try new bags throughout the year.

There are great spots for indoor and outdoor coffee drinking at The Coffee Lounge in Wyandotte.

They have different drinks depending on the season, plus everything from drip coffee to espresso and cold brew, plus smoothies and more.

Hooked on a Bean Specialty Coffee Roasters in Flat Rock
You might drive past Hooked on a Bean if you’re not looking for it, but their coffee is some of the best. The coffee roastery roasts beans from around the world and even has custom coffee and bags that can be made for any event.

Qahwah House in Dearborn
According to the website, Qahwah is the Arabic word for coffee, and Qahwah House serves up delicious Yemeni coffee, saying Yemen was the first source of coffee in the world. The family business opened in 2017 and said they were born in Yemen amid the coffee plants.

They have different roasts, and also sell bags to go.

Haraz Coffee House in Dearborn
Originally opened in Dearborn, Haraz Coffee House expanded to some other states in the U.S., but stays true to its Yemeni roots.
