Can’t-Miss Fall Activities in Wayne County

Fall may be the best season in metro Detroit, when the weather isn’t too hot, the air is crisp, and the smell of leaves, apples, cider, donuts and more fills the air. It’s a time to be outside, explore, see fall colors and just have fun. Check out these essential activities for fall in Wayne County.
Check Out a Cider Mill
There’s nothing more fall in Michigan than apple cider, donuts, and even apple picking. Thankfully, there are some great cider mills in Wayne County. Be sure to check out the delicious donuts at Parmenter’s in Northville; the huge variety of apples at Plymouth Orchards and Cider Mill; and enjoy the games and delicious cider at Three Cedars Farm.
See Fall Colors
Peak fall color season is expected to hit in early and mid-October throughout metro Detroit, and you can drive all around to see some great fall colors in the area.
Hines Drive is surrounded by a variety of trees throughout several cities in Wayne County, and you can catch great color there.
Maybury State Park in Northville has some great trails to see colors. You can walk the grounds of the Edsel & Eleanor Ford House in Grosse Pointe Shores, or the grounds of Fair Lane in Dearborn. You can also visit one of three Huron-Clinton Metroparks in Wayne County, Nankin Mills in Westland, or Crosswinds Marsh in New Boston.
Get Scared at a Haunted House
Be ready to scream when visiting these different haunted houses in Wayne County. One of the scariest is Eloise Asylum in Westland. It’s more than 30,000 square feet for a brand-new, walk-through experience. You can check it out on weekends in October.
Hush Haunted Attraction, also in Westland, features four different scary attractions and there are three bars hidden inside the haunts where drinks are available for purchase.
The Scream Machine in Taylor is double the size of the previous location. On top of a scary haunted house, there are also escape rooms where you and friends can try to get out.
Attend a Fall Festival
While fall festivals kicked off in September, many different events are still happening throughout October, and a lot of them involve pumpkins! The Wilson Barn in Livonia hosts a pumpkinfest during weekends in October. The City of Dearborn has a Haunted Trail Halloween

Check Out a Brewery
