Most important, bring a large tote or wagon for your bounty. A smorgasbord of specialty shops also call Eastern Market home. For service and style, patronize Henry the Hatter, the country’s oldest hat retailer. At 3Dogs1Cat, pick up eclectic merch for pets and their peeps. DeVries & Co. 1887 features meats and cheeses. Looking to refuel? Go to Bert’s Market Place for the outdoor barbecue and live music, or try the vegan pulled “pork” sandwich made with marinated jackfruit. There’s also always room for a slice of thin-crust pie from Supino or some steamed mussels at Vivio’s Food & Spirits, washed down with a loaded bloody mary garnished with cheese, olives, bacon, asparagus and a pickle spear.
