BLAKE’S ORCHARD AND CIDER MILL ANNOUNCES 2024 FESTIVAL LINE-UP
New and Returning Favorites Celebrating Strawberry and Sunflower Seasons to Fall and Holiday Traditions
ARMADA, Mich. May 28, 2024 – Blake’s Orchard and Cider Mill is pleased to announce its all season 2024 festival line-up with something for everyone to enjoy. Kicking off with new strawberry season events in June to the annual Holiday Extravaganza in Dec., Blake’s welcomes visitors throughout the year with a full calendar of events at its Orchard and Cider Mill and Blake’s Big Apple locations, both in Armada.
Strawberry Social – June 15 – 16 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Blake’s Big Apple (71485 North Ave. in Armada) Strawberries will take center stage at this event. In addition to fields full of U-pick strawberries, guests can enjoy live music, take advantage of specials on strawberry treats including slushies and pies, and sip on strawberry hard ciders. Tickets are $15.95 per person and include admission to Funland, free pony rides and face painting for children, a wagon ride, and a strawberry shortcake. Ages two and under are free.
NEW Strawberry Festival – June 22 from 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. at Blake’s Orchard and Cider Mill (17985 Armada Center Rd. in Armada) This new strawberry-centric summer festival starts bright and early with extended hours for U-pick strawberries and ends at dusk with a fireworks show on the farm. Other activities include live music and line dancing, strawberry treats, strawberry cocktails and mocktails, and new limited edition strawberry wine. This event is FREE for all ages.
Annual Lavender Festival – July 12 – 14 and 19 – 21 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Blake’s Orchard and Cider Mill Extended to two weekends for 2024, Blake’s is offering guests even more opportunities to immerse themselves in tranquil fields of lavender and stroll an open-air market featuring more than 200 Michigan artisans. There will also be DIY make-and-take workshops, educational sessions on aromatherapy, gardening, and natural wellness, and a children’s activity tent. There will also be lavender-infused treats for sale, including lavender ice cream, donuts, and cupcakes, as well as Blake’s Hard Cider and Blake’s Brewing Co.’s limited edition lavender-infused hard cider and beer. Advance tickets are $12 per person (by July 12) and $14 day of. New for 2024, admission includes entry to Funland and a train ride to and from the lavender fields. Children two and under are free.
4th Annual Sunflower Festival – Aug. 9 – 11 and 16 – 18 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Blake’s Orchard and Cider Mill New for 2024, Blake’s is extending this beloved festival to two weekends. Enjoy a short walk to the sunflower fields to cut blooms and enjoy endless photo opportunities. There will also be 200 + artisans featuring handcrafted goods, and free classes, speakers, and demonstrations on topics such as natural wellness and aromatherapy. For an additional fee, guests can take part in DIY workshops using real sunflowers. Advance tickets are $10 per person (by July 1) and $14 day of. Admission includes entry to Funland. Children two and under are free.
9th Annual Cider Dayze – Aug. 24 – 25 from 12 – 6 p.m. at Blake’s Orchard and Cider Mill The Midwest’s largest premier craft cider and beer festival brings together more than 50 of the best regional breweries, cideries, and wineries, along with food trucks, a beer stein-holding competition, a silent disco, cornhole, giant beer pong and Jenga, and live music for the 21-and-up crowd. Tickets are $40 - $55 and include a commemorative glass and nine drink sample tickets. Save $10 by purchasing in advance by June 30. Designated driver tickets $20.
Haunted Attractions– Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, Sept. 20 – Oct. 31 at Blake’s Big Apple A six-week long spooky celebration, Blake’s brings the thrills with Zombie Paintball, a Haunted Barn, Spookyland 3D Maze and a Haunted Hayride.
- Zombie Paintball: (no age restriction, parental discretion advised) Hop on Blake’s custom hayride equipped with paintball guns to hunt ‘live’ zombies as they scramble across ten ghoulish acres.
- Three-Story Haunted Barn: (suitable for ages 10+) Get ready for some frightful fun behind every door and corner as you explore all three floors.
- Spookyland 3D Maze: (suitable for all ages) Explore cornstalk mazes, enjoy a petting farm, pedal a kid-sized tractor on tricycle tracks, and discover the Funhouse and Terror Tunnel.
- Haunted Hayride: (no age restriction, parental discretion advised) Enjoy a leisurely wagon ride across Blake’s grounds where ghosts and goblins come to life along the journey.
Blake’s Holiday Extravaganza – Nov. 23 – 24 and Nov 29 – Dec. 1 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. & Annual Tree Lighting Nov. 23 at 6 p.m. Kick off the holidays with a day of shopping from dozens of unique artisan vendors, pick out the perfect Christmas tree, visit Santa Claus, and enjoy the sounds of carolers. There will also be free crafts and face painting for children. The excitement peaks with Blake’s annual tree lighting ceremony in Orchard Square on Nov. 23 at 6 p.m. This event is free to attend, with additional costs for some activities.
