The National Historic Landmark’s holiday events are around the corner—making holi-days and nights bright from Nov. 24 – Dec. 30, 2023
ROCHESTER, Mich., Sept. 26, 2023 It is almost the most wonder-filled time of year! The Holidays at Meadow Brook will bring a dazzling array of events, activities and opportunities for merry-making. By day, the beloved annual Holiday Walk transports visitors through the historic mansion decked in shimmering splendor, while Winter Wonder Lights transforms the estate at night into a breathtaking light show featuring music, concessions and magic.
Located in Rochester on the campus of Oakland University, Meadow Brook Hall will be Michigan’s most dazzling holiday entertainment destination from Friday, Nov. 24 through Saturday, Dec. 30. Tickets will go on sale Tuesday, Oct. 3 at meadowbrookholidays.com.
“Each year, we look forward to bringing indoor sights and outdoors lights to life with the Holidays at Meadow Brook,” said Shannon O’Berski, external relations director of Meadow Brook Hall. “The Great Estate is the most spectacular place to be this holiday season, whether you are looking for family fun, an evening with friends or a great date night.
During the day, Holiday Walk is a self-guided indoor tour of the three main floors of historic Meadow Brook, filled with magnificent holiday sights and splendid decorations. Guests will experience the wonder of more than 50 magnificent trees—including a 10-foot tall Poinsettia tree created by 150 live plants, hundreds of feet of garland and thousands of twinkling lights. Holiday Walk will run most dates from Friday, Nov. 24 through Saturday, Dec. 23 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
At night Meadow Brook is transformed into a dazzling light show. Winter Wonder Lights is a self-guided outdoor event featuring unique light displays across the grounds. It will be a special evening of lights, music and magic where visitors can explore the National Historic Landmark at its most festive. There will be seasonal concessions and specialty drinks, selfie stations, bonfires and more! Winter Wonder Lights will run from Friday, Nov. 24 through Thursday, Dec. 30 from 5:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. most nights.
Meadow Brook will also host a series of enchanting holiday events, including: Starlight Stroll, Holiday Tea and Santa Saturdays, which will feature special visits with the head elf himself! New this year will be special Family Nights, where children 12 and under can attend Winter Wonder Lights for free! Meadow Brook Hall is the historic home built by one of the automotive aristocracy’s most remarkable women, Matilda Dodge Wilson, widow of auto pioneer John Dodge, and her second husband, Alfred Wilson. Constructed between 1926 and 1929, Meadow Brook Hall represents one of the finest examples of Tudor-revival style architecture in America, and is especially renowned for its superb craftsmanship, architectural detailing and grand scale of 88,000 square-feet. It was the center of a country estate that included 1,500 acres, numerous farm buildings, recreational facilities, several residences and formal gardens.
