Bedrock Kicks Off Decked Out Detroit’s Winter Season with the Return of the Monroe Street Midway and 1001 Winter Wonders in Downtown Detroit

WHAT: Bedrock unveils Decked out Detroit’s initial line-up of interactive winter entertainment and holiday-themed festivities.

Monroe Street Midway:
Experience a variety of new attractions, activities (and returning favorites!) at the Midway’s family-friendly, winter wonderland including:

Winter Bumper Cars: RollerCade is back at the Midway, offering bumper cars with a winter twist!

Arctic Slide: Using inner tubes, make your way down this 80-foot slide; operated by Come Play Detroit.

Puck-Putt: This winter edition of putt-putt features a hockey stick to move a puck along the nine-hole course to score goals; operated by Come Play Detroit.

The Midway Arcade: Play family-friendly video games like Mario Kart and Jurassic Park, along with arcade classics like Skee-Ball and air hockey.

Food & Beverage: Take a break at one of the many seating and warming areas to feast on hot, delicious treats like hot dogs, chili, and hot cocoa for purchase. Gluten-free and vegan options will also be available.

Santa Brunch: Every Saturday and Sunday in December until Dec. 23, enjoy a hot breakfast buffet with the kids and Santa, himself, at the Midway from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Presented by American Resort Management, tickets must be purchased in advance.

Artwork: BrandXR, Electrifly, and Bedrock will present an immersive art gallery at the Midway. Three murals, painted by local artists, will be brought to life using 3D technology and the Electrifly app.

Detroit in Dialogue: An Immersive Experience: From Nov. 17 to Dec. 17, Shared Studios will team up with Bedrock, Library Street Collective, and Detroit artist Senghor Reid to repurpose a shipping container and create a global video chatroom in the heart of downtown!

1001 Winter Wonders:
Santa Claus: The jolly man in red will be awaiting your visit at 1001 Woodward Ave. between Nov. 16 and Dec. 24! Santa will be available for photos, first come first served, on Thursdays and Fridays from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 12 to 4 p.m.; operated by Studio M.

Sensory-Friendly Santa: In partnership with UMAISE, this inclusive experience will incorporate sensory adaptations, and a wheelchair-accessible layout. Families can pre-register for Dec. 2 between 4:30 and 6 p.m. or Dec. 8 between 1 and 3:30 p.m.

Entry to the Midway, the Arctic Slide, Puck-Putt, Shared Studios, and 1001 Winter Wonders is FREE. Winter Bumper Cars are $5 per session, arcade games range between $0.50 and $3.00 per play, and the Santa Brunch is $5 for children and $10 for adults.
