Free, family-friendly event promotes Michigan as a great place to call home by showcasing local art, music and community

WHAT: Make yourself at home. The MI HOMEcoming Tailgate gives current residents and visitors to Detroit a chance to experience the essence of Michigan during the NFL draft. Join local artists and musicians for an afternoon at Batch Brewing Co. and learn more about the benefits and opportunities that make Michigan a great place to live, work and thrive. This event promotes Michigan attractions and the state’s overall lifestyle in addition to offering exclusive giveaways, discounts and swag from local businesses such as Sister Pie, Paxahau (producers of Movement Festival), MoGo, Visit Detroit and many more.

This family-friendly event is free. No registration required.

WHERE:
Batch Brewing Co.
1400 Porter St., Detroit

A community biergarten, kitchen and stage that loves BBQ, music and giving back.

Located in historic Corktown, just west of downtown and right by The Corner Ballpark.

Friday, April 26 | 2-6 p.m.

WHO:

+ Michigan’s Chief Growth Officer, Hilary Doe, and members from the Let’s Grow Michigan campaign.
+ Performances by Stoop Lee (a blend of hip-hop heavily rooted in soul music, bringing a fresh take to a classic sound) and DJ Thornstryker (NBA’s first woman resident DJ when she joined the Detroit Pistons in 2014).
+ Live art by Phillip Simpson, owner of the Smile Brand.
+ A special guest appearance by former Detroit Lion Lomas Brown Jr.
+ Meet the 2024 Comerica Hatch Detroit Contest Top 4 and check out their pop-up “shops.”
+ Enjoy handcrafted beers, cider, kombucha and scratch food from Batch Brewing Co.
+ Exclusive giveaways, discounts and Mitten State swag from local businesses.

ABOUT: Presented by the Let’s Grow Michigan campaign and spearheaded by the state’s — and nation’s — first Chief Growth Officer, Hilary Doe, this event seeks to showcase the benefits and opportunities available to everyone right here in Michigan. Let’s Grow Michigan is focused on raising awareness to reverse existing population trends with talent attraction and retention efforts, engaging the public in the campaign to grow Michigan and telling Michigan’s story as a great place to call home.
