The Michigan Science Center’s “After Dark” Returns April 15 with “World Space Party” Theme
The Michigan Science Center's "After Dark" event returns with a "World Space Party" theme, featuring adults-only access to the museum, music, food, drinks, and science demonstrations.
Detroit, Mich., March 21, 2023– The Michigan Science Center’s “After Dark“ event returns April 15 with a “World Space Party” theme. The evening features adults-only access to the museum, plus music, food, drinks, science demonstrations and a Laser Lizzo light show.
The evening will feature two special speakers on the Science Stage:
Mi-Sci’s Staff Astronomer and NASA/JPL Volunteer Solar System Ambassador, Paulette Epstein, will make a presentation about the James Webb Space Telescope and its research.
Traveling to distant worlds has long been a dream of us earthbound humans, and incredible advances in technology mean humans will likely walk on Mars in the next few decades. The only limit is our imagination. Join professor and science communicator Michael McConville for a look at all the ways that space can kill us — from the dramatic to the mundane — and how scientists are trying to ensure that humans truly become an interplanetary species.
The Tom Everett Experience will provide music for the evening, paired with drinks from the Lacy’s Mobile Libations bar cart.
Tickets include access to the museum, activities, the laser show and one complimentary drink.
