Story by Max White
Planning a proposal isn’t the easiest thing in the world, but being in Detroit and the metro area makes it just a little easier because of the many beautiful spots where you can drop to one knee and ask the person you love to marry you.
If you’re planning on popping the question any time soon, we have a list of the top 10 best spots for a proposal in metro Detroit.
1 – Sunset Point at Belle Isle
One of the most-photographed spots in Detroit is at Sunset Point on Belle Isle. Located on the southwest tip of the island, the spot overlooks the downtown Detroit skyline and the Detroit River with the perfect sunset. Time it right, and you’ll have incredible photos for your proposal. (IG #SunsetPointeBelleIsle)

If you’re looking for great pictures and a way to easily hide family members and friends to surprise your future husband or wife, this is the spot. They can quickly get to you and blend in among the people for a nice proposal. Plus, if you do it around the holidays, there’s a big, beautiful Christmas tree. (IG #CampusMartiusDowntownDetroit)
