First, let’s talk about how to get to Detroit-
It is easy to drive to Detroit from many places in the Midwest and the East Coast. Fun fact, Detroit is north of Canada and so close that you can be there in less than 20 minutes!
If you prefer to fly, the Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW), is an international airport and in the top 20 busiest airports in the United States. DTW is a Delta Airlines hub, which created CareStandard in 2020 and the highest level of commitment to keep travelers safe and healthy throughout the pandemic.

Getting Around the City
Aside from being the home of the big three automakers, exploring Detroit via car is the easiest way to explore the tri-county metro area. If you choose to fly, there are several car rental locations throughout the area, however, the most convenient way is to rent a car from DTW. Don’t want to worry about constantly finding a parking spot? Rideshare options like Uber, Lyft are all easily accessible anywhere in the city.
Don’t think that means Detroit isn’t a walkable city. Downtown Detroit is not only walkable, there are plenty of paths like the Detroit Riverwalk and Dequindre Cut that connect various adjoining neighborhoods.
For public transportation, you can also adventure through Detroit’s Midtown and New Center areas by the QLine. The QLine is a streetcar system that’s popular among commuters and tourists alike.
Now that travel arrangements have been made, it’s time to explore what some of the new Detroit Experiences Packages have to offer.
