Best Maritime Museum

Situated on Belle Isle, this museum explores the history of the Great Lakes and their positive impact on transportation and leisure. Guests encounter many artifacts ranging from maritime engines to elegant riverboats, along with stories of Great Lakes shipping and recreation. Greenfield Village is an incredible destination that transports visitors back in time across 300 years of everyday life and innovation. Featuring seven historic districts and more than 80 acres of historic buildings that were relocated (or reconstructed) with a great deal of detail, Greenfield Village is a memorable experience. Horse-drawn carriages, working farms, artisan workshops, and costumed interpreters animate everything from early industry to domestic life. The village’s immersive atmosphere, complete with functioning steam locomotives and historic craft demonstrations, is truly fascinating for all ages.

Best Science Museum

The Michigan Science Center promotes creative and dynamic STEM learning through a series of interactive exhibits. This institution in Detroit's Cultural Center Historic District features live shows, the IMAX Dome Theater, the Toyota Engineering Theater, a planetarium, and an exhibit space with more than 220 hands-on activities and exhibits.
