Overview
Detroit's fashion scene will take center stage as Amazon Presents Light Up Livernois transforms the city's historic Avenue of Fashion into one of the region's largest outdoor celebrations of style, design and creativity on Saturday, July 11, 2026.
Produced by IBA Detroit CDC, the annual festival places fashion at the heart of the day's experience, spotlighting Detroit's emerging and established designers, local boutiques, stylists, models, beauty professionals and creative entrepreneurs who continue to shape the city's growing fashion identity.
From runway presentations and designer showcases to retail experiences and street style, Light Up Livernois celebrates the creativity that has made Livernois Avenue synonymous with fashion, innovation and entrepreneurship for generations.
"Light Up Livernois is where Detroit's fashion community comes alive," said Rufus Bartell, Executive Director of IBA Detroit CDC and organizer of the festival. "The Avenue of Fashion has always represented creativity, entrepreneurship and Black excellence. This festival provides a platform for designers, retailers and artists to showcase their work while inviting thousands of people to experience everything this incredible corridor has to offer."
Beyond the fashion showcases, visitors are encouraged to spend the day exploring one of Detroit's premier commercial districts by shopping local retailers, dining at neighborhood restaurants and experiencing an eclectic mix of art, music and family-friendly entertainment.
This year's festival also welcomes NBA Champion John Salley, whose participation expands the festival's focus beyond style by bringing conversations surrounding financial wellness, entrepreneurship and healthy living to attendees. Salley will engage visitors on building generational wealth, protecting financial futures and investing in personal well-being - reinforcing the festival's broader mission of empowering Detroit communities.
Throughout the day, festivalgoers can enjoy:
Outdoor fashion shows featuring Detroit designers and boutiques
Shopping with local retailers and independent brands
Fashion styling, beauty and lifestyle experiences
Art installations and live creative demonstrations
Live music and cultural performances
Food vendors and neighborhood restaurants
Family activities and community programming
Financial wellness conversations with NBA legend John Salley
Opportunities to discover and support Detroit-owned businesses along the historic Livernois corridor
