Overview
The Damned’s Final Damnation 50 brings a landmark first-wave British punk band together with two generations of garage rock. The group’s 1976 single “New Rose” is widely recognized as the first British punk single; its rapid-fire debut Damned Damned Damned and the more expansive Machine Gun Etiquette helped establish its restless range. For this Detroit bill, the cult San Francisco rockers Flamin’ Groovies and Danish-Brazilian duo The Courettes join the lineup, adding a distinctive mix of vintage rock ’n’ roll and sharp-edged garage pop.
