Overview
SOMi Sauna brings a wood-fired cedar sauna to the sand at Belle Isle Beach for a winter residency, with the Detroit River as the cold plunge and the downtown skyline across the water. Each 75-minute session is yours to pace: heat in the cedar room at 180 to 205°F, cool off in the river or in a chair facing the city, then head back in for another round. No experience needed, and the plunge is optional.
Sessions start every 90 minutes from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM on select weekends: Oct 10–11, Oct 24–25, Nov 14–15, Nov 28–29, Dec 12–13, Jan 2–3 and Jan 16–17. They run in rain, snow and everything else.
Tickets are $29.50 per person, with 20% off when you book 3+ weeks ahead and 10% off 11+ days ahead. Bring a swimsuit, towel and sandals. Sessions are 18 and over. Free parking in the Belle Isle Beach lot, just west of the Beach House.
