Morning
This day-long itinerary will take place on a Saturday in Detroit. There’s no better way to start a bachelor party than with coffe and brunch. Thankfully, Detroit has plenty of brunch spots. We have a list of where you can brunch in Detroit, but a couple of favorites in the city include Dime Store, Honest? John’s or Hudson Cafe.
After brunch, head over to Detroit’s Eastern Market district, where you’ll spend the rest of the morning. You can wander around the market, then head to Detroit City Distillery, which has tours every Saturday at The Whiskey Factory in Eastern Market. Tours happen at 11 a.m. or 1 p.m, and a 3 p.m. tour when available, and cost $20 per person. You get a signature cocktail on arrival, and you’ll learn about the DCD distilling process, the history of the building, and end the tour with a sampling.
Afternoon
After breakfast and the whiskey tasting, you’re probably going to want a light lunch to keep the day going and slow down. With that, you can stay in the Eastern Market area and head to one of the breweries in the area – Eastern Market Brewing Co. or Lagerhaus No. 5, where you can order from one of the many restaurants in Eastern Market.
Supino offers delicious New York-style pizza, Jose’s Tacos has street tacos, nachos and more, Bert’s Market Place has great BBQ and live music, or you can get a fresh sandwich at Louie’s Ham & Corned Beef.
After lunch, you can either head back toward the city and explore Downtown Detroit and the Detroit Riverfront if the weather is OK, or you can check out one of Detroit’s many museums in the Midtown area.
One afternoon is to grab some flights at breweries in Detroit, especially ones that are on the Detroit Brew Trail. If you want to get some exercise in, book an afternoon tour on a pedal pub! Both the Michigan Pedaler and HandleBar Detroit offer pedal pubs in the city, where you bring your own drinks and stop at a couple of bars.
After doing the pedal pub or checking out breweries, it’s probably time to take a break and get ready for the night. There are plenty of hotel options in Downtown Detroit, all within walking distance of everywhere you want to be.
Some great options include Element Detroit, Hilton Garden Inn, The Shinola Hotel, the Siren Hotel, Westin Book Cadillac or Marriott Renaissnce Center.
Evening
For dinner, there are places to fill up the entire bachelor party group with delicious food in a great atmosphere. Texas de Brazil offers you a Brazilian steakhouse where you can eat until you’re stuffed. If you want a steakhouse, look no further than D.PRIME Steakhouse, Highlands or even Prime and Proper. Other great options are Wright & Co. for small plates or Grand Trunk Pub for a perfect Detroit/Michigan meal.
With the bachelor party coming to an end, it’s all about having some fun. That means some competition at different arcade bars in the city. Barcade in Midtown has a variety of arcade games, as does Pop + Offworld. You can head to the Fowling Warehouse for cheap drinks and football bowling,Detroit Axe in Corktown has axe throwing and some outdoor lawn games, and Garden Bowl is known for its bowling.
You can head to the casino to end the night, if you’re looking for a late-night eat, be sure to check out our guide to late night bites, where you can get coneys, burgers, wings, pizza and more.
