Best Detroit Spots to Celebrate (or Forget) After a Big Game

Tin Roof
Tin Roof is just a few steps away from Comerica Park, a block from Ford Field and a couple of blocks from Little Caesars Arena. Open until 2 a.m., the bar welcomes fans before and after games with drink specials, food and live music. It’s a great place to gather with other fans after the game!

The Old Shillelagh
Located in Greektown with shuttles to the big games, The Old Shillelagh has four floors to gather with fans. They have live music throughout the day, plus DJs, delicious food and great drinks – with a variety of cocktails and beer.

The Brakeman
The Brakeman is a great place to gather with fans in the heart of Downtown Detroit after the game. You purchase poker-like chips when you walk in and use them to get beer or cocktails, and they’re open until 11 a.m. on weekdays and 2 a.m. on weekends. You can play games, plus enjoy fried chicken from Penny Red’s in the same building. They also have the big game on their TVs to watch with other fans!

Brass Rail Pizza Bar
Also close to all three stadiums, Brass Rail Pizza Bar has a huge menu with a variety of pizzas and dozens of beer selections. They have nearly two dozen TVs to watch the game, and they’re open until 11 a.m. on weekdays and 3 a.m. on weekends.

Bookies Bar & Grille
Bookies is a few blocks from all three stadiums and arenas in Detroit, and you’ll find people in jerseys and apparel before and after every game. The bar has three floors, including a rooftop patio that’s covered in the winter. There are TVs throughout the bar where you can watch the game if you’re not going.

Firebird Tavern
Also located in Greektown, Firebird Tavern is a great place to get together after the game. You can take the Greektown shuttle to all events, and they have drink specials on different nights, plus DJs, food specials and more.

Detroiter Bar
The Detroiter Bar is one of the best sports bars in the Downtown Detroit area and is perfect for watching the game if you’re not going, or for getting together with fans after. Grab a pitcher of beer and some appetizers and celebrate!

The Skip
A unique bar at The Belt alleyway in Downtown Detroit, you can get together with fans and others at The Skip. In the summer, the bar extends into the alley with picnic tables, try some frozen cocktails, or grab a beer.

Harry’s Detroit
After any game at Little Caesars Arena, you’ll find dozens of fans at Harry’s, which is steps away. They have delicious food and great beer, with plenty of places to sit or stand with other fans. There’s also a second floor with an outdoor patio, and a spot to hang in the parking lot with tables.

Checker Bar
Right in the heart of Campus Martius, Checker Bar gives you a dive bar feel with great food and cheap drinks. It’s a great spot to go after the game, and you can also play some arcade games above the bar at Pop + Offworld.

Detroit Casinos
Finally, there are plenty of bars at all three casinos in Detroit – MotorCity Casino, Hollywood Casino at Greektown and MGM Grand Detroit. There are sportsbooks where you can watch the games on massive TVs, plus drink and food specials, and you might even want to continue your luck on the tables or the slots.

Finally, make sure to be responsible when you’re celebrating. The best way to do that is by staying at one of the many hotels in Downtown Detroit that are all within walking distance from the bars we mentioned above.

The Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center will offer great views of the city and the Detroit River. Finally, the Element Detroit is in the historic Metropolitan Building with rooms that have full kitchens.
