Detroit's Best Bloody Mary
Story by Biba Adams
When it comes to brunch cocktails, it usually comes down to one or the other—a mimosa or a Bloody Mary.
Mimosas are made with champagne or Prosecco and juice that brings out the tart flavor of the sparkling wine. Mimosas are easy to drink and there’s no boozy brunch like one that features bottomless mimosas.
But, it takes a more discriminating palate to love a Bloody Mary. The cocktail is made with seven basic ingredients: vodka, tomato juice, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, celery salt, Tabasco and lemon juice. The savory flavors lend themselves nicely to unique garnishes and some of Detroit’s best bartenders have embraced the trend turning the drink into a brunch dish all its own.
