Saturday
We’re starting our day in Detroit’s historic Corktown neighborhood for breakfast at Folk, a neighborhood brunch bar that has been nominated for a James Beard Award. They’re known for their seasonal, healthy menu that’s broken down by what goes well with what you’re drinking. They also have a full espresso menu. With the Dining in the D pass, you’ll save 10%!
After brunch, it’s time to explore with the Explore Detroit pass. We’re going to start with the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. It’s located in Midtown Detroit and was founded in 1965 and is dedicated to celebrating the legacy of African Americans When you show the Explore Detroit pass, you get 20% off general admission to the museum.
By the time you’re done exploring the museum, you’ll want lunch, and this is a perfect time for Detroit pizza. The Detroit Pizza Pass has whatever type of pizza you’re looking for. If it’s Detroit-style, head to Buddy’s Pizza in Downtown Detroit and get 10% off your bill. If it’s more New York style, Mootz has a variety of delicious pizza, or, you can try unique pizzas at Pie Sci Pizza in Midtown.
After lunch, consider walking off that pizza with a City Tour Detroit walking tour that will help you learn more about our incredible city. The Detroit Destination Pass will get you 25% off your tour ticket.
By this time, you’ll probably want a cold beer to relax before dinner. The Detroit Brew Trail has nearly a dozen breweries and distilleries in Detroit. Jolly Pumpkin in Midtown is a great place if you want to try sour beers, or a mix of beers from their sister brewery in Traverse City. Atwater Brewery along the Riverfront is known for its Dirty Blonde ale or the Vanilla Java Porter. Or, you can grab a cocktail at Detroit City Distillery in Eastern Market. The Detroit Brew Trail pass gets you 10% off.
Now, it’s time for dinner, and as we’ve mentioned, the Dining in the D pass has a mix of fancy and casual restaurants, offering all types of food. If you’re craving seafood, head to Oak & Reel in New Center. The Italian restaurant focuses on seafood that they source throughout the world and cook in their oak-burning hearth.
A more casual option would be to try Detroit Shipping Co. It’s a food hall with several different food options including burgers, dumplings, Caribbean food and more.
If you want one final drink to end the night, head to Standby, a hidden cocktail bar in The Belt alley in Downtown Detroit, or for a more bar-like vibe, the Old Shillelagh in Greektown will give you 10% off your bill with the Dining in the D pass.

Sunday
To start your next day, maybe you want to skip a full breakfast and instead grab a coffee and a pastry. There are plenty of coffee shops to check out on our guide.
You can then start your morning by walking with the coffee along the Detroit Riverfront and stopping by the Michigan DNR Outdoor Adventure Center. The warehouse turned adventure center shows off all Michigan has to offer when it comes to nature. With the Explore Detroit Pass, you also get buy-one-get-one-free admission! While you’re along the Riverfront, another option is to check out Wheelhouse Detroit, which offers bicycle tours, rentals and more. The pass gets you $5 off a bicycle tour.
After the riverfront stop, head over to The Block in Midtown for brunch or a regular lunch. They have a huge variety of delicious food with drinks, plus a special brunch menu.
It’s time to once again hit up another brewery on the Detroit Brew Trail after lunch. Lagerhaus No. 5 offers $5 house beers with the Detroit Brew Trail pass, or Nain Rouge Brewery also offers $5 beers. Other breweries in the Detroit area on the Brew Trail include Eastern Market Brewing Co. in Eastern Market or Batch Brewery in Corktown.
To end your day, it’s time to once again indulge in some pizza with the Detroit Pizza Pass. Jolly Pumpkin has unique pizzas and a special on the pass, or try Union Assembly right near Comerica Park for some great Detroit-style pizza.
